ABOUT
Dr Keil Auer is a Sunshine Coast based Anaesthetist with a special interest in ophthalmic anaesthesia. He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine from the University of Queensland and graduated with Honours before becoming a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists.  Dr Auer has trained at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH), Royal Brisbane and Woman’s Hospital, Queensland Children’s Hospital and the Prince Charles Hospital. He is credentialed at SCUH and each private hospital on the Sunshine Coast.

Dr Auer has extensive experience in anaesthesia for ophthalmic procedures. He works regularly with several ophthalmologists on the Sunshine Coast and is the Clinical Lead for Ophthalmic Anaesthesia at SCUH. This role entails presenting educational lectures at SCUH for other anaesthetists and overseeing the assessment of trainee anaesthetists in ophthalmic anaesthesia. He is also highly experienced in anaesthesia for other surgeries including Maxillofacial, Dental, Gastroenterology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, General, Vascular, Orthopaedic and Plastic surgery amongst others. Dr Auer has a friendly, patient centred and collaborative approach to healthcare which helps to ensure the best possible outcomes for his patients. When he isn’t working, Dr Auer enjoys spending time with his young family and surfing.
